HeyYou出自迷幻摇滚之王PinkFloyd1979年概念唱片《TheWall迷墙》，讲述了Pink面对外面的世界寻求自我解脱的方式。《TheWall》是RogerWaters在PinkFloyd所取得的最为辉煌的成就，亦是他过人才华最成功的展现。这部非凡的有着极为广泛影响的宏大作品以不间断的方式叙述了一位摇滚明星从婴儿降生到成人后的人生沉浮经历，通过其深刻的反思概括了从冷战阴影、教育危机、人性异化到末日般恐怖的西方社会在那个时代的总特征。
可以说HeyYou是《TheWall》专辑中一首相当出名的歌，不幸的是他未被收进电影之中。这是Pink的请求，因为他意识到与世界隔离并非他想象中得那么简单。在此歌中，Pink呼唤别人的帮助。我们每个人都在筑墙，只是高低有所不同而已。Pink的话犹如译本又意义的小册子：“别帮着他们埋葬光明/别在斗争前屈服让步”。
Pink希望有人帮他搬走那些“石块”，那是他在整个生命过程中和整个筑墙过程中所承受的心理压力。在吉他Solo后一个代表现实的声音响起。它说到Pink认为有人能帮助他这个想法纯粹只是幻觉，因为他的墙太高也太坚固；他无法走出去，也没人能够走进来。“无论他如何努力，他都无法重获自由。”尽管他努力过，但Pink无法让自己从墙的后面解放出来。“一群蛆虫在吸食他的大脑”。这句词可以解释“蛆虫”这个隐喻。“蛆虫”在传统意义上可以有两种解释。第一种解释是“死亡”，但不适合用在这里。第二种解释是“知识”，是Waters的本意。Pink在早年生活中所积累的知识致使他开始筑墙。但一旦他躲在了迷墙后面，他又发现日子并非自己想象中那么好过。
